It happened real fast on Saturday.

Sen. Oscar Braynon, D-Miami Gardens, introduced an amendment that would ban for two years the sale of AR-15s.

And it passed on a voice vote.

Fifteen minutes letter, in what must feel like a cruel tease for gun control advocates, senators voted to reconsider.

And then they voted 21-17 to reject the ban.
