The March For Our Lives students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland are trying to visit every Florida congressional district before Aug. 1 and this week their focus is on the vaunted I-4 corridor.
Three stops in the Tampa Bay area are part of a national bus tour that's taking the students across the country to push voter registration and for an end to gun violence. Here are the local events this week:
6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Clearwater: Road To Change town hall at the Athenian Academy, 2289 N Hercules Ave.
11 a.m. Thursday, St. Petersburg: Road To Change rally and voter registration party, Williams Park, 350 Second Ave. N.
6 p.m. Saturday, Tampa: Road To Change town hall/student panel, Marshall Student Center Auditorium at USF, 4103 Cedar Circle.
R.S.V.P. for the events on the March For Our Lives website. This week the students will also have events in Orlando and Kissimmee.
On Sunday in Houston, the March For Our Lives students held a big rally and there were gun rights supporters at the event. David Hogg, of the group's co-founders, reportedly met with them after the rally, sparking a conversation on gun control.
