A new round of digital ads promoting Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson's re-election prospects is directed at older Floridians and portrays him as a fighter who has opposed cuts to Medicare and raising the Social Security retirement age.

The spots, in English and Spanish, are paid by the Senate Majority PAC and a liberal group, Priorities USA Action. The online-only ads make no mention of Nelson's Republican challenger, Gov. Rick Scott.

A 38-second ad accuses Republicans of wanting to raid the social safety net "to help pay for their big tax cut for big drug companies, banks and the ultra-rich."
