WASHINGTON – If "strong evidence" of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians existed, it would have leaked by now, Sen. Marco Rubio said on Fox News Sunday.

"I'm limited to what I can say because the Senate is still doing our investigation but I am comfortable in saying this, if there was evidence, strong evidence of collusion, I guarantee it would have been leaked by now, but let's wait for the process to play itself out and I think that's what should happen," Rubio said.

"Mueller should continue. He should finish his work and the truth should come out, and I think that's in the best interest of everyone, including the president."

Other Republicans have used a form of "it would have leaked by  now."

Rep. Ron DeSantis brought it up as far back as December.

Trump over the weekend continued to assail the probe, while directly acknowledging Sunday that the infamous Trump Tower meeting was about getting dirt on Hillary Clinton, despite the story the White House put out last year.

Rubio also discussed his Russia sanctions bill and paid family leave. Transcript here.
