Gov. Scott is running for Senate and has minimized his ties to Trump.

WASHINGTON -President Donald Trump this afternoon tweeted out support for Ron DeSantis and, surprisingly, Rick Scott ahead of Tuesday's primary.

Trump's reinforcement of DeSantis comes as voters in Florida are hearing his voice in a robocall.

The tweet for Scott stands out.

Scott faces nominal GOP opposition in the primary and has minimized his formerly strong advocacy of Trump. Given that he is already running a general election campaign against Sen. Bill Nelson, it's likely Scott will keep up that distance.
