Alan Grayson's politics matched the time — but everything else did not.

The former congressman from Orlando — as liberal an elected official as Florida has seen — saw his comeback attempt demolished by freshman Rep. Darren Soto, who faces token GOP opposition in November.

Unofficial results showed Soto taking 66 percent of the primary vote vs. Grayson's 33 percent.

Grayson played up hopes of impeaching President Trump, while mainstream Democrats like Soto focused on other issues.
