Democratic nominee for state attorney general Sean Shaw has announced an endorsement from former Vice President Joe Biden.

In a news release, Biden called Shaw "a fighter, with a proven track record of standing up for the little guy."

Biden, a senator from Delaware before he became vice president, and former President Barack Obama have been gradually rolling out endorsements of Democratic candidates nationwide. But Biden has endorsed comparatively few candidates in Florida so far.

The news release from the Shaw campaign calls Biden, who's considered a potential 2020 presidential candidate, "an icon in the Democratic Party."
