Winner of the week

John Morgan. In Ron DeSantis, Mr. For the Pot and People finally has an ally in the governor's office who supports his fight for easy access to medical marijuana. But now the business whiz attorney is investing millions in the reefer business, so it remains to be seen how much Floridians trust his motives as he pushes to legalize marijuana for recreational use.

Runners up: Andrew Gillum and Carlos Curbelo. What better way to recover from a painful election loss than chill out in the hallowed halls of Harvard. Like countless losing candidates before them, Gubernatorial candidate Gillum and former U.S. Rep. Curbelo will be resident fellows this Spring at Harvard Kennedy School's Insitute of Politics.

Loser of the week.

Susan Bucher. The Palm Beach elections supervisor was suspended by Gov. DeSantis for botching the election recount. She is the third elected official booted by the new governor, who also suspended Broward Sheriff Scott Israel and the Okaloosa County school superintendent. They're dropping like flies in South Florida.
