Loser of the week I

Matt Gaetz. Born in Hollywood, Gaetz adores the spotlight. Of course, his birthplace is Hollywood, Florida so maybe he’s not ready for prime time. I mean, THAT TWEET. Hoo boy. Threaten someone before they provide public testimony before Congress? And you’re in Congress? No wonder U.S. Sen. Rick Scott called it “disgusting” and the Florida Bar opened an investigation. Cut!

Loser of the week II

José Oliva. Florida’s new House speaker is barely known outside of South Florida, but he caught some unwelcome airwaves last week after he repeatedly referred to pregnant women as “host bodies” in an interview with CBS Miami’s Jim DeFede. The Miami Republican apologized multiple times for the insensitive phrasing, but Mr. Speaker, next time, make your point without demeaning women.
