Officials were busy preparing for President Donald Trump’s visit to Tampa Bay on Friday.

Trump was expected to land at Tampa International Airport at 3:20 p.m., according to the White House schedule.

After an event with Florida sheriffs, he is set to leave the airport shortly before 4 and today’s rush hour traffic.

According to its Facebook page, the Largo Police Department was planning to close all of East Bay and West Bay Drive, from about 4:15-5:15pm and 6:30-7:15pm.

Trump’s destination? The Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, where he’s set to arrive at in time for a 4:30 p.m. for a mashup roundtable on COVID-19 and storm preparedness. Gov. Ron DeSantis’ schedule doesn’t mention him joining Trump for this roundtable, but true to form, the schedule is incomplete. DeSantis later said that he will be attending.

Another roundtable, this one with supporters, is set for 5 p.m. And then he is scheduled to deliver remarks at a “fundraising committee dinner” at about 6 p.m.

An hour later he is set to depart the Pelican Golf Club. By 7:50 p.m. he’s set to fly out of Tampa International Airport. He expects to be back at the White House by 10 p.m.
