Calling all Tampa Bay residents: you could be the next Hallmark movie star. Or at least, you could appear in some part of a Hallmark movie. Close enough, right?
Hallmark is looking for extras for its latest movie, which is being filmed in Safety Harbor, according to a Facebook post from the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce Thursday morning.
The requirements are simple: You must be in the age range of 15 to 60 years old. Filming begins March 25. All those interested can send a head shot, age and availability to this email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is not the first Hallmark movie to be filmed in the area. In February, a new movie was shot throughout St. Petersburg. The film, titled Garden Party, included areas like Vinoy Park and the Mahaffey Theater, according to St. Petersburg-Clearwater film commissioner Tony Armer.
The tale follows a woman who builds a community garden in her father’s memory and has to fight for the garden’s fate when a condo developer buys the area. It’s scheduled to debut in April.
When Garden Party filmed in the area, Hallmark hired around 350 residents to work as extras, actors with speaking roles or as crew.
Hallmark producer Elayne Schmidt told the Tampa Bay Times that she planned to head up a second movie in the area this month.
Hallmark is also considering filming possibly six to eight more movies in the Tampa Bay area in the next year.
