RHP Brandon Gomes on Friday became the first pitcher in Rays history get get credited for 1/3 of an inning without actually throwing a pitch as he picked off Elvis Andrus after entering the game in the eighth.

DEVELOPING: After letting Friday's game get away when the bullpen failed to hold a one-run lead, the Rays are back on the steamy field tonight to take on the Rangers at 8:05.

All-Star ace RHP Chris Archer will be on the mound, saying a solid finish helped make his rough Sunday start against the Mets easier to put behind him. The Rangers are starting RHP Colby Lewis, who has done well against the Rays in regular- and post-season play.

The Rays have most of the lefty hitters back in their lineup, thouugh one less than recently as Desmond Jennings, after a three-hit return on Friday, is again in leftield.
