Busch Gardens offers $49 tickets in Memorial Day weekend sale

Busch Gardens kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a deep-discount sale on admission, offering tickets for $49.

Admission normally starts at $84.99. To mark the start of vacation season, the Tampa theme park on Friday announced that the deal is available through June 2 for use through June 23. Add an Adventure Island water park ticket for $10.

For the longer term, the park's Fun Card is on sale $65, a 30 percent savings. It gives unlimited admission with some blocked-out dates through Dec. 31.

PREVIOUSLY: Military and veterans get in free, college students get a break at Busch Gardens, SeaWorld and Adventure Island.

The park is also offering discounts on Bronze, Silver and Gold annual passes, which offer free parking, shopping discounts and other perks.

The deal comes in time for the park's annual Summer Nights, kicking off May 31. Visitors can ride coasters in the dark and see live entertainment and fireworks each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening through Aug. 11. The park also released a new Summer Nights food menu on Friday that includes a firework ice cream sundae in a jar, a churro sundae and buffalo ranch popcorn. Go to
