LIGHTNING: HOCKEY DAY TAMPA BAY

Join Lightning alumni and staff for this day all about hockey with a “learn-to-play jamboree,” scrimmages, Lightning High School Hockey League All-Star Game and a firefighter versus police game. Baseball season looms. Can it be? Get pumped for the Rays with this event that includes player autographs and a gaming experience. Wow, this makes us weep even if we’re not skateboarders. This “old-man” event is for those ages 30 and older. At least it includes free beer and barbecue. OUTDOORS: HIKING WITH A VIKING

Imagine yourself as a Norse seafarer who has landed in the New World or, in this case, Hillsborough County. Well, you don’t have to imagine anymore. Join costumed park rangers and re-enactors for Hiking With a Viking, a hike that re-creates the era, and learn about Viking lifestyles, skills and weapons. 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. $5.
