Let’s get the obvious question out of the way: Tiger Woods will not be in the field when the Valspar Championship tees off today. The PGA Tour event at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course was pushed back two weeks this year to follow two marquee events that attract the top players. Still, the Times’ Rodney Page points out: “Considering Valspar’s new spot in the 2019 schedule, the field is not too shabby.” Indeed. That includes Dustin Johnson, the top-ranked player in the world, and defending champion Paul Casey. Beyond the golf, there are expanded entertainment options, including a Chillounge, silent disco, a Fortnite zone for gamers, a wine zone, block party and a concert by Brad Paisley on Saturday after the day’s play.
