Meet Sponger, Tarpon Springs High's synthetic cadaver dog
Tarpon Springs High School's Veterinary Science Academy students are learning skills with Sponger, the academy’s state-of-the-art synthetic canine cadaver, as part of instructor Krissy Tallarino’s practical program. The $45,000 cadaver, created by SynDaver, of Tampa, bleeds, breathes and mimics living tissue with individual muscles, bones, organs, and a complete circulatory system, enabling students to practice surgical skills with anatomical accuracy.
