Greetings and salutations: 'Heathers' TV series gets okay for pilot

Heathers, the 1988 Winona Ryder-Christian Slater cult classic, could finally reach your TV screen soon. The Hollywood Reporter says the cable network TV Land has ordered a pilot for a potential series.

Wait. Didn't everyone DIE at the end of the actual movie? Pretty much, but that won't stop Hollywood from turning our treasured '80s classics into brain-dead zombie remakes.

It turns out the TV series will be based in current times (boooo!) and flip the movie's plot upside down. Instead of a high school full of students worshiping a few popular-yet-tyrannical females, "Heathers: The TV Show" (hopefully not its real name) has the outcast students in control.

Okay, so kudos for having a pulse, Hollywood writers. Still not gonna watch it.

Leslye Headland is set to direct, says THR, with production set to begin this fall.
