Hernando superintendent Lori Romano has put a familiar face in the top job at Powell Middle School for the new school year.
Thomas Dye, the school's assistant principal for the past four years, will take over the principal's job.
Dye, a Hernando educator since 1998, taught history and physical education before becoming an administrator. He worked at Fox Chapel Middle in addition to Powell.
"Powell is a great place to work and is a terrific place for students to learn. My goal is to continue our approach of providing students with a balanced program of strong academics, outstanding performing arts and athletics. We have been moving in the right direction and I want to continue that trend," Dye said in a released statement.
