Tampa Bay continued to feel the lingering effects Friday of a strong low-pressure system that moved through the region on Wednesday. There were tropical storm-force winds, eroding beaches, cloudy skies that turned clear as the day progressed, and a few early showers to make for a treacherous commute.

Oh, and hail.

Although forecasters warned that could be a byproduct of the storm system, Hernando County residents were nonetheless treated (or perhaps shocked?) to the sound of hail pelting their cars and windows around noon, as captured by Times North Suncoast Editor Karen Peterson around noon.
