DOCTOR JOINS HOSPITAL STAFF: Oak Hill Hospital welcomes Xavier Jenkins, MD, who has been a full-time practicing surgeon for more than 20 years. Dr. Jenkins joined the practice of Nature Coast Surgical Specialists at 11315 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill. He comes to the hospital and practice from Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. Dr. Jenkins is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons in England.

ALAN'S ROOFING RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION: Alan's Roofing recently accepted three awards at the Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Conference, including the prestigious 2019 Top Performer — Platinum Warranty Award, a competitive category. The company also won the Service Excellence Gold Award and the Product Excellence Bronze Award. The local company was chosen from thousands of roofing companies nationwide as a leader in the roofing industry with its customer-driven, results-oriented work. Alan's Roofing is a professional roofing contractor in Brooksville and central Florida, owned by Alan J. Field, who is chief executive officer, president and founder. The company opened in 1987.

PHSC STAFF RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARDS: Pasco-Hernando State College announced its recipients of the annual National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Awards. The 2019 honorees include: Connie LaMarca-Frankel, professor, humanities; Jacqueline May, associate professor, English; David Sullivan, Ph.D., professor, emergency medical services; Jennifer Wiatrowski, professor, biological science; and Glynis Williams, instructor, information technology. The awards is to recognize professionals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to their students and colleagues. Award recipients are invited to the 2019 International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence that is May 25-28 in Austin, Texas.
