Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or can’t tell a Pinot Noir from a Pinot Grigio, The Wine Shoppe of Carrollwood gives customers an opportunity to sample a variety of wines.
General manager Pedro Moreno is always on hand to welcome customers, discuss wine preferences and demonstrate how to operate the Italian-made, automated wine pouring machines. The machines dispense one, three or six ounce pours while keeping wine fresh and at a constant temperature.
At the spacious bar, wine flights, house wine and local craft beers are available, and there is also ample indoor and outdoor seating.
For those looking for a gift or something to take home, a retail area offers bottled wine and accessories for purchase.
In the short time that The Wine Shoppe has been open, it has attracted people from all over the Tampa Bay area and proven popular with locals.
“We get a lot of walk-up traffic from local restaurants,” said Moreno.
The Wine Shoppe has also been embraced by nearby businesses since it took over a longtime vacant retail space in the Main Street Shopping Center.
“We’ve built a great relationship with everybody here,” said Moreno.
Partnering with Michael’s Grill next door, The Wine Shoppe customers can order food and have it brought over.
Ladies Night is every Wednesday, and happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m Monday-Friday. There are plans for wine tastings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays with a different vendor each week.
“That’s really exciting,” said Moreno. “I think customers will really love it.”
The Wine Shoppe of Carrollwood is at 11724 N Dale Mabry Highway. It is open 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. For more information, call (813) 690-9545 or visit wineshoppecarrollwood.com.
