Just as the popular coffeehouse and eatery approached its one-year mark at Fair Oaks Plaza on W Gandy Blvd., Daily Dose packed up and moved five minutes down the road to a larger space at 4817 S Westshore Blvd.

“The weekend the article ran, (New coffeehouse and eatery comes to South Tampa) they were extremely busy,” said Jan McCabe, their previous property manager.

“So I think they just outgrew the space and are expanding.”

During their transition period, the breakfast shop best known for its bread bowls and smoked coffee, operated at a storefront at Harbor Island and from a food truck at its new location.

They sampled some of their new dishes to give people an idea of what's coming when the restaurant opens on Tuesday (Jan. 15).

Owner and chef Antoine Ludcene is excited about this new venture, and wants to utilize this opportunity to expand their menu to offer dinner featuring dishes with a little more of a Southern feel including chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, steak and seafood.

“I think there’s so much potential at that location,” Ludcene said.

“It’s bigger, it has a full bar and it’s going to be more traffic there because it’s on the corner of two main busy streets where there’s no place for coffee or breakfast. It will give me a little more freedom to try different things.”

Food at the new Daily Dose Coffeehouse & Eatery ranges from $9 to $30 and it plans to operate from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and from 5 to 12 p.m. for dinner daily.
