Hillsborough County gears up for Turkey Day with numerous road races and turkey trot events. Here’s a list.

Looking to burn a few calories before devouring Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing, or the family famous macaroni and cheese?

A number of 5K Races and turkey trots will take place across Hillsborough County on Thanksgiving Day.

Goody Goody run set for Amalie Arena

TAMPA —The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA 4th Annual Goody Goody Turkey Gobble 5K, 8K and 1 Mile Run/Walk starts at 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning at Amalie Arena on 401 Channelside Drive.

Goody Goody will provide free breakfast to all participants after the race. Prizes will be awarded to 1st place overall male/female adult and 1st place overall male/female youth (ages 9 and under). There also will be age group prizes. All proceeds raised from the run will support LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors and their families. Waterset readies for holiday 5K event

APOLLO BEACH — The SouthShore community will come together for the third annual Waterset 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day (Nov 22). Proceeds from the race benefit the three public schools near the Waterset community: Doby Elementary School, Eisenhower Middle School and East Bay High School.

The event also includes a kids fun run. Registration is $25 until Tuesday (Nov. 20) and can be completed online at tinyurl.com/ybsoab6y. Beginning Wednesday (Nov. 21), the race fee is $35 and can be paid when packets are picked up on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Waterset’s The Landing Club and Café, 7012 Sail View Lane, Apollo Beach, or on race morning.

Runners rev up for Seeds of Hope 5K

LITHIA — The annual Seeds of Hope FishHawk Turkey Trot starts at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 22) at the FishHawk Crossing Publix, 5642 FishHawk Crossing Blvd. The event features 5K and 10K runs and a mini run.

Race-day registration begins at 6 a.m. for the Lithia area’s largest Thanksgiving run. Proceeds benefit Seeds of Hope. For more information and early registration, visit sohopefl.org/turkey-trot-run.

Shops at Wiregrass holds Turkey Trot

WESLEY CHAPEL —The Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot starts at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday (Nov. 22) at The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive. Work up an appetite for your Thanksgiving dinner on this 5K run or 1-mile fun run/walk.
