Four years have passed since FSU college buddies and business partners, George Tsambis and Perry Dube, first became South Tampa business owners and assumed the responsibility of the Blind Goat Food and Drink Co.

Now, the duo are on to their second business venture together, but this time with a different focus: breakfast, and a heavy focus on eggs.

They named the restaurant the Nest Neighborhood Kitchen to connect the symbolism of a nest with eggs and the hatching of those eggs. The neighborhood, they say, evokes an at home feeling of inclusiveness.

The fast-casual breakfast restaurant caters to the average on the go individual and those that enjoy dining in for breakfast.

Its menu focuses on four main elements: breakfast sandwiches served on brioche buns with fresh cracked, cage free eggs, different varieties of toast including small, on the go toast bites, breakfast bowls, and its french toast nuggets, which are made from scratch, coated with corn flakes and available in eight, 12, 25 and 50 counts.

The restaurant also partners with local companies such as Buddy Brew for its nitro and regular cold brew coffee, and Mother Kombucha for its kombucha which are both on tap. Also on tap they serve Rosé and Prosecco to make its mimosas. In addition to breakfast, the concept also serves lunch items such as burgers, salads and more.

Dube said they hit a "homerun" with the location that sits at 2217 S Dale Mabry Highway across from Plant High School. This allows them the opportunity to connect with the community and the student body especially with their kiosks and mobile app which allow for easy ordering and a rewards program.

"With a fast-casual element to breakfast, it's not something that's really seen," Dube said
"We bridge the gap between sitting in a drive through or sitting in a brunch spot for an hour. We want it to be as local and community based as possible and emphasize as much as Tampa as we can."

Prices range from $7.50 to $10.50 and The Nest Neighborhood Kitchen operates from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. They plan a grand opening at the start of the new year and for more information visit www.thenestnk.com.
