Attention Homeland fans: You won't be seeing as much of Virgil as you used to next season, because David Marciano is leaving the show. But that's only because he's developing a cable prison drama as a writer and producer.

Marciano is the latest series regular to depart the showl Diego Klattenhoff left to join NBC's The Blacklist, Deadline.com says. David Harewood, Jamie Sheridan and Navid Negahban left, too, but only because their characters were killed.

There's still a chance Marciano could return as a guest star, the site says. Meanwhile, he'll have his hands full trying to sell yet another show about criminals to TV. Perhaps Showtime is interested.
