Plant sophomore INF/RHP Jake Woodford has committed to Florida, becoming the third member of the Panthers' current roster to make an oral or written pledge to the Gators.

Coach Dennis Braun confirmed the commitment. Woodford (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) joins senior signee Pete Alonso and sophomore RHP/OF Kyle Tucker, who previously committed to UF. Oral commitments are non-binding.

As a freshman, Woodford made nine mound appearances, winning both his decisions, notching a save and posting a 3.17 ERA. In 17.2 innings, he struck out 15 and walked 10.

Last October, he was named to the all-tournament team at the Perfect Game-sponsored 2012 WWBA World Championship in Jupiter. In that event, he allowed two hits in a four-inning appearance, striking out seven and walking two.
