Pitchers of the day
Leto freshman left-hander Pablo Diaz pitched a complete game against Tampa Bay Tech, giving up seven hits, walking two and striking out four. The Titans’ only run was unearned. …FSU commit Logan Crouse gave up three hits, walked one and struck out 11 in seven innings of work for Bloomingdale. …Jefferson’s Jordan Norman threw three scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and striking out three. …Newsome left-hander Drew Bradley struck out five and gave up six hits in seven scoreless innings.

Hitters of the day
Senior designated hitter Elias Duran went 2-for-3 with a single in the second inning and an RBI double during the Falcons’ winning rally in the sixth. …Leftfielder Tyler Tyson gave Gaither its best chance to score when he hit a leadoff triple in the first inning. He was one of four Cowboys left on base. …Bloomingdale sophomore shortstop Austin James had a two-RBI double in top of the sixth inning to give the Bulls a pair of insurance runs. …Jefferson leftfielder Nelson Maldonado doubled in the fifth inning for the Dragons’ only extra-base hit. …Outfielder Evan O’Brien led the way for the Wolves with a pair of singles.

Defensive gem of the day
James put on a show in the field, assisting three outs, including two back-to-back in the fourth inning. He also had a pickoff in the second inning after Kenny Rodriguez reached base on a single. “Austin can flat out pick it from shortstop,” Bloomingdale coach Kris Wilken said.
