Fivay has promoted assistant Nikki Pollock to its head volleyball coach, Falcons athletic director Linda McQuade said Monday evening.

Pollock must fill big shoes – her former coach’s.

Pollock played for McQuade at Hudson and helped the Cobras advance to the 2000 state final. She also played at Saint Leo before serving as an assistant at Hudson and Fivay.

She replaces McQuade, who stepped down this semester to help groom her successor. McQuade plans to continue as an assistant for the Falcons.

Fivay made its best run in program history last fall, advancing to the Class 5A region final.
