HUDSON — Fivay’s high-powered offense proved too much for Gulf. The Falcons finished with 441 yards of offense.

Fivay (3-3) controlled the game from the beginning. A seven-play 85-yard drive capped by a 10-yard touchdown run by Bryan Poinsette opened the floodgates. He then ran it in for the two-point conversion.

The Falcons’ next drive was similar. Eric Vitale threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Christian Coleman to cap another seven-play drive. Vitale ran it in for the two-point conversion.

Gulf (0-6) closed the gap a little when Michael O’Donnell kicked a 30-yard field goal.

But Fivay scored the game’s next 21 points (Poinsette 13-yard run, Vik Taylor 45-yard interception return and Vitale 57-yard pass to Trent Soto) over a three-minute span to lead 37-3 at halftime.

After a Falcons field goal in the third, the Bucs got their first touchdown when Travis Thomas ran it in from 6 yards. He later scored on a 57-yard run, and James Grubb scored on a fumble return.

Vitale found Coleman on a 3-yard pass for Fivay’s final touchdown.

Even without Davion Sutton, who sat out for an undisclosed violation of team rules, Fivay had no problem running the ball. It gained 186 yards, Poinsette leading with 87.
