A pair of Land O’Lakes girls soccer players announced their college intentions Friday afternoon. Midfielder Brooke Silvest committed to Eckerd College and fellow senior Catherine Gray will be headed to Concordia (N.Y.) College.

Both players confirmed the news as they were on the Gators team bus headed to Jacksonville for a region final against Matanzas High.
Gray said with family up north she sought a school in that region of the country. “I was really impressed when I visited, and kind of knew that’s where I’d end up,” she said.

Silvest said she took an October official visit to Eckerd. She heads up the Gators in the midfield and has 19 goals and as many assists in playing in all 26 games.

Gray has 19 assists as well. She should be able to help the Clippers right away; Concordia went 0-12 this season, getting shut out in all but one game.

Eckerd finished with a 7-10 mark, going 6-3 outside the Sunshine State Conference. Former Land O’Lakes goalie Morgan Crescent was the Tritons starter as a junior last season, and Mitchell’s Arie Anahory scored six goals to lead the team.
