Just a few weeks ago, Lakewood offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn told anyone who asked that he was trying to wait until signing day in February to announce his college choice. But after a weekend visit to Georgia, Wynn couldn’t wait that long.
Wynn, 6-foot-2, 269 pounds, confirmed Sunday that he has orally committed to the University of Georgia. That ends a whirlwind spring and summer where Wynn appeared on just about every Division I coach's radar. He received more than 30 offers, including ones from Florida, Florida State and Auburn, and is listed as the second-best offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com.
Should he stick with his commitment, Wynn will not be the only Pinellas County lineman on the roster. Zach DeBell of Tarpon Springs is a sophomore offensive tackle for the Bulldogs.
