Lakewood will induct five former football players into its athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony prior to the Nov. 7 Mayor’s Cup game against Northeast.

Cornell Green (Class of 1994), Tim Carter (‘98), Patrick Carter (2003), Aveion Cason (‘97) and current head coach Cory Moore (‘94) will be honored prior to the game at Lakewood. Each former player will receive a plaque. The ceremony starts at 6 p.m. on the football field.

Green had an 11-year career as an offensive lineman with the Jets, Bucs, Broncos, Raiders and Bills. Tim Carter was a wide receiver for the Giants, Browns, Texans and Rams. Patrick Carter attended Louisville and has been on the Dolphins, Bucs, Ravens and Seahawks practice squads. Cason played running back for the Rams, Lions and Cowboys until 2008. Moore played running back at Bethune Cookman and then spent one season with the Vikings. He became the Spartans' head coach in 2008.
