Hernando SS Christian Arroyo and Durant ace Tyler Danish continue to bring in accolades. Both were named first-team All-Americans by Baseball America on Tuesday.

Arroyo, the Times’ all-Suncoast player of the year, ranked among the state’s leaders with 11 home runs while batting .524 and knocking in 35 runs during the Leopards’ run to the Class 5A region finals.

The Giants drafted Arroyo with the No. 25 pick and swayed him from his commitment to Florida with a slot-value bonus of more than $1.8 million.

Danish, the Times’ all-Suncoast pitcher of the year and Florida’s Mr. Baseball, didn’t allow an earned run this season. He finished 15-1 with 156 strikeouts to lead the Cougars to the Class 8A state final.

Danish signed with the White Sox for slightly more than $1 million after Chicago drafted him No. 55 overall.

King right-hander Brett Morales earned second-team All-America honors by the publication. He finished a standout senior season 11-2 with a 0.58 ERA and 127 strikeouts. The UF signee struck out a school-record 17 batters in a win over Mitchell that took his Lions to the Class 6A state semifinal. The Reds drafted him in the 24th round.
