Plant City tight end Jordan Prestwood's most recent offer comes with an interesting back story.

Prestwood received an offer from Texas Tech, his 11th Division I offer. The Red Raiders don't typically recruit the Tampa Bay area, but Plant City coach Jason Strunk hopes a local connection will change that.

New Red Raiders running backs coach Chad Scott is a former Plant City standout running back, who joined the Texas Tech staff after three years at Troy.

"It's a pretty cool connection," Strunk said. "We'll see if we can build that up a little more now."
