Dunedin assistant principal Robert Allen is accepting applications for the school's vacant head baseball coaching position. Anyone interested can email Allen at allenro@pcsb.org by Monday, Sept. 16.

The position opened after Tom Hilbert resigned Thursday after 16 years as head coach to become a volunteer assistant at St. Petersburg College.  Hilbert won 360 games, 13 district championships and a state championship in 2008. In 42 years at Dunedin there have only been two head coaches (Hilbert and Greg Nichols). He remains at the school as a physical education teacher.

Now that Hilbert has resigned, the longest tenured public school baseball coach is Kemo O'Sullivan at Countryside (seventh season). The longest tenured coach overall is Todd Vaughan at Clearwater Central Catholic (25 years).
