In Panhandle press, he's known as 'South Walton's' Huckabee

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who's among the latest Republicans to enter the wide-open 2016 presidential contest, decided to put down roots in the Florida Panhandle -- specifically at a high-end resort development called Blue Mountain Beach in Santa Rosa Beach in Walton County. Chez Huckabee, with 11,000 square feet overlooking the gulf, has a market value of $3.3 million.

Huckabee and his wife Janet have been registered voters in Walton County since February 2010. They are represented by U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller, state Sen. Don Gaetz and state Rep. Brad Drake of Eucheanna. Here's an interesting read in the Northwest Florida Daily News on Huckabee's life in the Panhandle, including his favorite restaurants and other hangouts.
