Insane Clown Posse coming to the Orpheum in Tampa

Has it really been four years since Insane Clown Posse's last local concert?

Yep, the last time Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J gathered the Juggalos in Tampa Bay was all the way back in 2011 at the old Hawaiian Village at the Stadium Green Iguana (remember that? Wow, does time fly).

Before that, INsane Clown Posse were a steadfast presence at the old Jannus Landing, pretty much the only venue in town willing to let the duo to soak their face-painted fans with geysers upon geysers of Faygo. ICP were, in fact, the final act to grace the courtyard stage before its glossier reinvention as Jannus Live.

Well, good things apparently come to those who wait, because ICP are finally on their way back, with a concert scheduled for the Orpheum in Tampa on Oct. 12. Joining them are P.O.D., a headline-worthy act in their own right, as well as Stitches, Young Wicked and Dope D.O.D. Tickets are $25-$50, and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.

The downgrade in venue is indicative of just how far ICP have fallen over the years. Gathering of the Juggalos aside, this is a band that once headlined Tampa's Ice Palace (no, seriously), so to fall back to a smaller club like the Orpheum is pretty significant. Guess demon-clown-painted rap-metal doesn't move the needle like it once did.

Hopefully half the bill won't get arrested for weed at this show, which is what happened last time. But you never know.
