In one of the first concerts to be held in the Tampa Bay area since COVID-19 shut down most of the concert venues, the popular rapper Moneybagg Yo will be performing on Saturday for an outdoor show at the Cuban Club in Ybor.
Memphis-born rapper and songwriter Demario White — who goes by the stage name Moneybagg Yo —earlier this year released his third studio album, Time Served, which debuted in January at the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s 200 Chart. It has now been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, Interscope Records said in a news release.
On Saturday, he will be the headliner for a show that the Orpheum is calling the Tampa Luau Block Party. “This will be an outdoor event,” the Orpheum stressed in its show announcement.
The historic Cuban Club has a large outdoor patio that has been the site of many concerts and parties over the years, including WMNF’s Tropical Heat Wave.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at 2010 N Avenida Republica de Cuba, Ybor City. Tickets are $50-$150 at eventbrite.com.
