What did strangers, family members, businesses, sports teams, your boss, your pets, your dentist, your local supermarket — anyone or anything — do to aggravate you in 2021? Tell us your top complaints via this form from anywhere in the world, and we’ll publish them (for everyone to deal with!) in our sixth annual Festivus airing of grievances.
Twenty four years after the classic 1997 Seinfeld episode The Strike, featuring Frank Costanza (the brilliant Jerry Stiller) and his hilarious, made up, anti-consumerism holiday Festivus, people are still celebrating in real life by sharing petty and humorous complaints about life from the preceding year.
If you’re not familiar with Festivus, this video is a good primer, festivusweb.com has the details and the Seinfeld episode (Season 9, Episode 10) is now available on Netflix. The episode also airs Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. on Comedy Central. Examples of past year’s top reader complaints are here, here and here, and below the form.
The basics of Festivus: there’s an unadorned metal pole (as Frank finds tinsel distracting), and — most importantly — the airing of grievances. As Costanza so elegantly shouted it: “I got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re gonna hear about it!”
