Snow Days returns to Florida Aquarium in Tampa

Who says we can’t have snow in Florida?

For the past eight years, the Florida Aquarium in Tampa has added a ton of the white stuff in the week after Christmas, making the snow play area included with admission.

Kids can launch snowballs at pollution monsters, plus navigate a snow maze, enjoy a snow toss and join a winter dance party as snow falls from above. There’s also a Snow Painting section where you can grab a paintbrush and paint the snow. And a Florida twist has a professional sand sculptor who will show guests how to build the best sand snowman on the beach.

Be sure to wear gloves and closed-toed shoes to keep warm.

The Florida Aquarium itself features multiple habitats including Stingray Beach, the Wetlands, the Coral Reef and Moon Bay. In total, the aquarium has 200,000 square feet of discovery space.

The snow play area is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 26-30. Admission starts at $33.95, $28.95 for kids, $30.70 for seniors at flaquarium.org. 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa.
