The Tampa Downtown Partnership and the city of Tampa announced today that River O’ Green Fest is being bumped up one day due to Saturday’s forecast of inclement weather. It will now take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. March 17 in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

The hallmarks of Tampa’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration are a green-dyed Hillsborough River and an outdoor concert with vendors. The safety of participants and spectators is the main reason for the change.

“The safety of all our guests and vendors is of the utmost importance,” said Tampa Downtown Partnership President and CEO Lynda Remund. “With storms in the forecast on Saturday, we decided it was in everyone’s best interest to reschedule.”

The River O’ Green Fest features concerts, children’s activities, food trucks, a pet costume contest, beer and free boat rides along the emerald green river.
