TAMPA - The minds behind the popular Karate Kid spinoff series Cobra Kai are moving from live action to animation and from the backdrop of Los Angeles to “the breathtaking metropolis of Tampa, Florida.”

Deadline, Yahoo and other media outlets covering the entertainment industry are reporting that Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg are working on an animated series titled Prince Wawa that will air on Fox.

According to Deadline, Fox is pitching the series as a comedy that centers “around a naive merman prince” voiced by comedian Tim Baltz “who juggles life between the ocean, the only home he’s ever known, and his new life on land with his human mother in the breathtaking metropolis of Tampa, Florida.”

It will also star comedian Lily Sullivan.

It has not been announced when it will begin production.
