Ybor shifts annual pumpkin patch to a drive-thru model

The Little Monsters pumpkin patch from the Ybor Merchants Association will still give kids a free pumpkin, but through the car window this year.

The annual Little Monsters pumpkin patch and Halloween party in Ybor City on Saturday will still offer kids a free pumpkin, but it will be a drive-thru this year to make it a “COVID safe Halloween extravaganza.”

The Little Monsters Pumpkin Express has set up a free registration site at and the procession will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Centro Ybor on Eighth Avenue in Ybor City. Registration is required.

“Although things may look a little different this year, our tradition remains,” the Ybor Merchants Association said in a news release.

The merchants have teamed up with BKN Creative to present a Halloween procession through Centro Ybor with trick or treating, music, pumpkins, characters, contests and “lots of additional goodies.”

Kids can show off their costumes, get pumpkins handed through the car window and you can get a Halloween family picture to wrap up the ride.

“Families can further participate by decorating their car to enter our contest to win a free two-night stay with Hotel Haya in Ybor City, among other great local prizes,” the announcement said.

Costumes are encouraged for this free event.
