Coronavirus has left most large event venues in the Tampa Bay area struggling to keep their doors open. Susan Crockett, Ruth Eckerd Hall president and CEO, and the venue’s board announced “Something Special,” a virtual benefit to support the Ruth Eckerd Hall Recovery Fund.

Eight-time Emmy Award-winning journalist Lissette Campos will host the event, which will stream live online at 7 p.m. Nov. 6.

Something Special features virtual performances by Grammy-winning artists and students of the Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts. There will also be an auction of items from the Ruth Eckerd Hall vault, including an electric guitar autographed by members of the rock band Styx and a microphone autographed by singer Paul Anka.

To register for the free event, go to rutheckerdhall.com/benefit. All proceeds from the auction and sponsorships go to the Ruth Eckerd Hall Recovery Fund.
