Lindsay Lohan announced her engagement to boyfriend Bader Shammas over the weekend, and it looks like her man has a Tampa connection.
The Parent Trap and Mean Girls star broke the news in an Instagram post, writing, “My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love 💍”
Shammas, aka the future Mr. Lohan, used to be a Tampa resident.
According to his LinkedIn page, Shammas studied engineering at the University of South Florida from 2007 to 2010. Then he hopped over to the University of Tampa, where he graduated in 2012 with a bachelor of science in finance.
There are not many details about why he chose Tampa in the first place, but it looks like he didn’t stick around Florida for too long. In 2013, he joined the banking group BNP Paribas, working in Bahrain before moving to Kuwait. He currently works as the assistant vice president of Credit Suisse in Dubai, where he likely met Lohan. The actress has been living there for several years.
Despite his short time in Tampa, USF seems proud of him. The school’s alumni page posted warm wishes for the couple Monday.
