Comedian David Spade adds Tampa stop to standup tour

The announcement comes a day before the “Saturday Night Live” alum’s comedy special begins streaming on Netflix.

Comedian David Spade will be making a stop at Tampa Theatre this fall as part of his new nationwide comedy tour, Catch Me Inside.

The announcement was made a day before Spade’s standup special, Nothing Personal, will begin streaming on Netflix on Tuesday.

Known for his sarcastic and self-deprecating humor, Spade brings his standup tour to Tampa on Sept. 24. Tickets are $45-$75 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at tampatheatre.org and the box office at 711 N Franklin St., Tampa.

Spade, 57, started in standup and rose to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live for five years in the 1990s. He went on to work in films such as Tommy Boy and Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups, and he also was in the hit sitcoms Just Shoot Me and Rules of Engagement.

He and fellow SNL alum Dana Carvey recently launched a podcast called Fly on the Wall, where they talk with fellow comedians, writers and actors to reminisce about their most memorable stories from the show and how it impacted their lives.
