Tampa’s historic movie theater celebrates the holidays with classic movies, a visit from Santa, sing-alongs and an indoor sock ball fight. The following is a list of activities that has something for all ages.
- Miracle on 34th Street (1947) (NR, 96 minutes): Guests are invited to meet Santa before the film (starting at 2 p.m.) and take home a free photo. 3 p.m. Nov. 27. $10, $7 members.
- White Christmas (1954) (NR, 120 minutes): Sing along with the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ before a screening of the holiday classic starring Bing Crosby. 3 p.m. Dec. 4. $14.50, $11.50 members.
- Elf (2003) (PG, 97 minutes): Bring a donation of new, unworn socks. Then, during the film’s Central Park snowball fight scene, the audience is invited to participate in a sock ball fight in the auditorium. Socks will be collected after the film and donated to area homeless residents. 3 p.m. Dec. 11. $10, $7 members.
- It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) (PG, 130 minutes): Because of popular demand, the theater will hold multiple screenings of the holiday favorite starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and 19-22, 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 17, 3 p.m. Dec. 18. $10, $7 members.
- Eight Crazy Nights (2002) (PG-13, 76 minutes): In the Adam Sandler animated film, an alcoholic with a criminal record is sentenced to community service under the supervision of an elderly referee. 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18. $10, $7 members.
- Frozen (2013) (PG, 102 minutes): Sing along with Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Kristen Bell in Disney’s wintery smash hit. 3 p.m. Jan. 8. $14.50, $11.50 members.
