A Nightmare on Franklin Street returns to Tampa Theatre

There are many ways to celebrate Halloween at Tampa Theatre’s A Nightmare on Franklin Street.

In October, Tampa’s most historic, and most haunted, movie palace goes 100% Halloween with classic horror movies, guest stars, ghost tours, spine-chilling stage shows, spooky storytelling and family-friendly frights. Here are some highlights of what they have planned for this year’s A Nightmare on Franklin Street.

  • Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour: Take a 45-minute tour to hear tales of horror from Tampa Theatre’s past. $15, members free. 3 p.m. Oct. 14, 11 a.m. Oct. 15, 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 3 p.m. Oct. 18, 11 a.m. Oct. 21, 3 p.m. Oct. 25 and 4 p.m. Oct. 27.
  • Hocus Pocus: This portion features a screening of “Hocus Pocus” (1993, PG, 96 minutes). In the film, three witch sisters go on a hunt for children. $10, $7 members. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
  • Suspiria: In “Suspiria” (1977, R, 100 minutes), an American ballet student attends a German dance academy infiltrated by the supernatural. $10, $7 members. 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14.

  • Rocky Horror Picture Show: This portion features a live shadowcast performance of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” (R, 101 minutes). In the film, a Transylvanian doctor in lingerie attempts to create a life form. $15, $12 members. 7:30 and 11:55 p.m. Oct. 15.
  • Friday the 13th: In “Friday the 13th” (1980, R, 95 minutes), counselors at a summer camp are suddenly being killed. $20, $17 members. 2 p.m. Oct. 16.
  • Psycho: This portion features a screening of “Psycho” (1960, R, 109 minutes). In the film, a serial killer goes on a slashing rampage. $10, $7 members. 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16.
  • X: In “X” (2022, R, 105 minutes), actors renting a cabin to shoot a film become prey for an old couple on a killing spree. $10, $7 members. 8:30 p.m. Oct. 16.
  • The House With a Clock in Its Walls: This portion features a screening of “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” (2018, PG, 100 minutes). In the film, a young steampunk boy notices strange goings-on in his uncle’s house. $10, $7 members. 2 p.m. Oct. 17.
  • The Shining: In “The Shining” (1980, R, 146 minutes), supernatural evil lives within a psychically charged hotel. $10, $7 members. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17.
  • Grand Hampton Season Premiere: Join Tampa Theatre and local artist and filmmaker Antony Capers as they debut the newest episode of his supernatural YouTube serial “Grand Hampton.” The series takes place in an upscale Tampa neighborhood. Free. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18.
  • Pet Sematary: In “Pet Sematary” (1989, R, 103 minutes), a cat comes back to life after it is buried in a pet cemetery. $10, $7 members. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20.
  • Josh Gates: Join explorer, author and intrepid investigator Josh Gates from Discovery Channel’s hit series “Expedition Unknown” and Syfy’s “Destination Truth” for a spooktacular evening of adventure. $35-$65. 8 p.m. Oct. 21.

  • Spirits Fest: Spirits Fest is a night of cocktails with the opening of the silent comedy “Now We’re in the Air.” $100, $90 members. 6 and 9 p.m. Oct. 22.
  • Phantasmagoria XIII: “Phantasmagoria XIII: Poe, Through the Tales Darkly” is a live stage performance by Victorian horror troupe Phantasmagoria. Children must be at least 8 to view the show. $26. 2 p.m. Oct. 23.
  • The Beast Comes at Midnight: In “The Beast Comes at Midnight” (2022, PG-13, 84 minutes), a teenage outcast struggles to grow his failing live stream, which centers around his family history of sideshows and carnivals. $10, $7 members. 7 p.m. Oct. 25.
  • Campfire Stories: Join Tampa Theatre to sit under the stars and enjoy scary tales beside a campfire. $10, members free. 7 p.m. Oct. 27.
  • Late Night, Lights Off Paranormal Investigation: This portion features a three-hour haunted balcony to backstage tour. $40, $30 members. 9:15 p.m. Oct. 28-29.
  • Haunted Mansion: In “Haunted Mansion” (2003, PG, 99 minutes), Eddie Murphy takes you through a tale of Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction. $10, $7 members. 11 a.m. Oct. 29.
  • Ghostbusters: In “Ghostbusters” (1984, PG, 105 minutes), a ragtag group set out to save the world from paranormal events and monsters. $10, $7 members. 2:30 p.m. Oct. 29.

  • La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos: In “La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos” (2013, NR, 101 minutes), a woman looses her grip on reality, and her sanity, after experiencing something supernatural. Filmed in Spanish with English subtitles. $10, $7 members. 5 p.m. Oct. 30.
  • REC: This portion features a screening of “REC” (2007, R, 78 minutes). In the film, a television news crew is unknowingly exposed to a home quarantined for driving people rabid. $10, $7 members. 8 p.m. Oct. 30.
  • Halloween: Celebrate the actually holiday with a screening of “Halloween” (1978, R, 91 minutes). In the film, a silent killer menaces teens, kills many and can’t be stopped. $10, $7 members. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
