Wild n’ Wicked Nights: The mild-mannered mermaid park turns into a spooky haunt themed as Stranger Springs with an underwater mermaid show (8, 9 and 10 p.m.), a Weeki Lab escape room, two mazes, light zone, bounce houses, the woods, a haunted boat ride and a costume contest. $10, 5 and younger free, $5 haunted boat ride. 7-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Field of Screams: TASCO teen program’s 16th annual Beyond the Bayou theme haunt that takes you into the swamps where whispers of rituals and spirits linger. Halloween on Central: Nearly 2 miles of Central Avenue will be shut down to traffic to allow a family-style costumed stroll with entertainment, candy stations and a new four-block Voodoo Vendor Village, between 16th and 20th streets on Central. There will also be live performances, dog- and family-friendly activities (including a wiener dog race) and, of course, plenty of candy for trick-or-treaters of all ages. Free. Tunnel of Terror Car Wash: Guests can get their cars cleaned while being spooked by ghouls and goblins as they drive through the haunted car wash. 7-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Beetlejuice: Based on Tim Burton’s iconic film, the musical tells the story of unusual teenager Lydia Deetz, whose life is upended by a recently deceased couple and an irreverent demon.
