Would you like to evacuate the hellscape of 2020 and flee to a private island? Of course you would. Here’s your chance.
Inspired by how people have adjusted their travel plans during the pandemic, Hotels.com is welcoming a group to stay on a private island in the Florida Keys for Thanksgiving week.
The appropriately renamed “Friendsgiving Island" is located in Marathon. The island has a three-bed, two-bath 5,000-square foot vacation home with kayaks, paddleboards, a boat dock, veranda and helicopter launch pad. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a billiards table and a private pool and beach. The island is near attractions like Sombrero Beach, the Florida Keys Country Club and the Seven Mile Bridge.
One night on the private island costs $1,400, but the Friendsgiving deal costs $2,000 plus tax for a seven-night stay from Nov. 14-21. The reservation also includes a one-night private chef who will cook “the ultimate Friendsgiving meal.”
According to a brand spokesperson, guests will meet the property manager at a dock in Marathon and travel to the island by boat.
Here’s the catch: The promotion is only available to one group. Reservations open at hotels.com/FriendsgivingIsland/ Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
Sure beats curbside turkey and arguing about politics over a Zoom family dinner.
